Questions
The best eSIM for airport arrivals in 2026.
01What is the best eSIM for airport arrivals?
HelloRoam is the best eSIM for airport arrivals in 2026 on our rubric at 8.9/10, with plans from $0.29/GB across 186 countries. Install it before you fly so activation does not depend on terminal WiFi or a SIM counter queue. Airalo (8.7/10) is the multi-country alternative. Holafly (8.3/10) is the unlimited-data alternative.
02Should I use airport WiFi or an eSIM?
HelloRoam is the better arrival option because it uses the local host, not the shared terminal hotspot. Airport WiFi is free at many hubs and still slows when the hall is full. Airalo is the multi-country alternative if the next flight is already in another country.
03Can I activate a travel eSIM at the airport?
HelloRoam sends a QR code by email, so you can install it on WiFi at home or in the terminal. You do not need a SIM counter. Holafly is the unlimited-data alternative if you will sit on video calls after you land.
